I will be taking a short trip in and around Guayaquil, Ecuador from Septemer 4th to September 11th. My request is not to fund my personal expenses, but for you to be part of helping provide supplies to three area Churches (and possibly more, depending one the donations received). Unless you wish to remain anonymous, I will ensure that each Church receives a letter with a list of donors.
Tax-deductible contributions may be mailed to:
Paramount Brethren in Christ
19106 Longmeadow Road
Hagerstown, MD 21742
Checks must be made payable to Paramount BIC with "Ecuador mission project" in the memo line.
The three primary Church recipients will be:
· Iglesia de Cristo Iberoamericana - El Recreo
· Iglesia de Cristo Iberoamericana - Samborondón
· Misión Bautista Hay Vida en Jesus (Scroll to the bottom to read a message from the Pastor)
The Churches listed above have been a light in their individual communities, each of which, operate in areas of extreme poverty. They are constantly at work sharing the Good News and they do their best to combat the inherent problems that accompany such extreme poverty. Two of the Churches have child centers and one operates an elementary school. They visit homes, they perform street ministries and feed hungry children. All three collected and delivered supplies immediately after the devestating April 2016 earthquake. At least two sent workers to complete relief work and help rebuild homes. One mourned the loss of a child center participant, her parents and siblings who were victims of the quake, while simultaneously lifting up two of the young siblings that survived. These Churches have acted selflessly, graciously and humbly to their fellow citizens, as well as, those of us who have been blessed to serve along side them. That being said, any amount or item that you may be able to donate will be gratefully received. Every dollar and every prayer is valuable.
Supplies needed, include but are not limited to: Spanish Bibles; Children's Bible Stories in Spanish; Spanish Coloring Books; Over-the-Counter Adult and Child Medications/Vitamins (non-gummy); Clothing; Art Supplies; Musical Instruments, Video Equipment and Repairs.
Logistically, as one person, I can only a certain amount of physical items and the rest will have to be purchased in-country.
A Message from Misión Bautista Hay Vida en Jesus
At present we serve 344 children and for me it is in joy to work with them. Hence the needs have increased, such as:
The physical space is very small where we attend the children, and it is necessary to dream with spaces of greater capacity and where they can recreate. We as church are few members and with the few incomes we have bought two houses and there we attend the children, but it is not provide adequate space. We are praying for provision for extension or to acquire another space for the services and meetings of parents or make a provisional readjustment.
Additionally, we project video, films and other works with them and our current projector is damaged.
Also because of the work we do with the children, we print a lot of material and a copier or printer is necessary.
Now I place this burden upon you and whatever the will of the Lord we will revive with all humility. When you come, I will be sharing my dream, with more details. I wish you have us in prayer and specifically because we need the support of some organization or people in other words we need a sponsor for this beloved church.
