This summer I have an opportunity to travel to Jalaca, Honduras to work at the New Life Children's Home. Our team of 15 high school students and chaperones from The Harvest United Methodist Church will reflect God's love by serving those are sometimes forgotten. We will work in the mornings around the working farm and assist with some facility repairs and upgrades. In the afternoons and evenings we will spend time with the orphans living and going to school there. We will play games and be intentional about sharing God's love. We will also participate in outreach to the community surround New Life Children's Home.
I have been drawn to serving others through mission trips. I have been to Mexico and the Dominican Republic but this one is a bit different. First, this one is about the kids rather than the projects, yes we will be productive, but I want to make these kids feel special and loved by God. Second, this is the first trip I have taken the lead in earning and raising funds. I have been working extra hours, participating in all fundraisers with the group and am now asking my friends and family to partner with me. If you can make a donation, it is much appreciated. If not, I ask for your prayers June 3-10 as we travel to Honduras to serve our neighbors to the south.
Thank you for your support
