The money raised is for our overall ministry which includes an outreach center that we call Hope Cafe. At hope cafe we feed street children and children living in poverty areas nearby. We identify children who are not in school and work to get them in school. We also let Hope House Youth and moms come there and cook and they then can sell what they cook there. Our youth learn culinary skills there.
We have a sponsor program whereby we sponsor children and we supply all their school needs such as uniforms, backpack, shoes, and school supplies.
We have a church located on the top deck of the barangay hall in our area where the barangay captains office and other officials are located.
We go out and feed in the communities as well, and we provide basic medical needs, and sometimes more expensive needs.

We are currently raising money for a Homeless childrens Day Center. We will be identifying the children to form a record and tracking them to prevent sexual exploitation, We will be feeding, passing out clothes and providing showers as well as medical attention. We also will be putting them in school with all their school needs met. In addition, we will have bible studies, and work with the adults on their addiction and other issues. Our goal is to save the children and bring them into our faith family, so they have access to education, support and protection from predators. We are also right now raising money for school uniforms, backpacks, shoes and school supplies for school starting at the end of May
The reason we set up this site, is to give an option other than pay pal at our other donation site which is at http://www.empowered.org/support-for-a-child--or-general-donation
My name is David M Wilkerson, and my wife and I have been doing missionary work here in Cebu, Philippines since May 2010. I am from the United States, and lived in Seattle 10 years prior to coming here.
My wife and I live in one of the poverty areas here and we also work in other poverty areas. We established Hope Christian Church and the families we raise money for also live in our area.
One of our primary goals is that the children are supported in school. We supply their uniforms, supplies and provide funds for ongoing school projects or homework which is weekly.
We feed the children in the poverty areas, and also feed the children who are living on the streets. We also have a feeding program at our church.
We recieve monthly support from http://www.heavensfamily.org/ for our slum feeding programs
What Heavens family has to say
We have been sending financial support to David for 4 years. David, the founder, felt the Lord leading him to actually live in the slums, with the goal of bringing the Kingdom of God to a very needy community. As a result, lives have been changed and, I truly believe, many children have been protected from the human traffickers who prowl neighborhoods like this in search of easy targets desperate to believe their lies about a better life.
This is really a no-frills, low-budget ministry that seeks to change lives through long-term relationships. David has gone through a lot of trials and missteps along the way, he's quick to admit, but is learning and doing as best he can with the limited resources at his disposal. David, along with his wife Ailene, are truly living humbly---I know I couldn't do what he does, apart from a miraculous outpouring of grace!
I'm having a great time interacting with the kids!
and we also recieve monthly support from http://www.touch1000lives.org/
What Touch 1000 lives has to say..
Touch1000Lives is a UK registered charity and we started sponsoring children at Hope House Cebu about 5 years ago, we weren't the first but we were early supporters. As we are required to verify that the intended beneficiaries are indeed being helped, we watched very closely how the first child, and then the second, changed dramatically for the better once they were sponsored. I have individual photo albums of all our sponsored children on my facebook page stretching all the way back. Take a look and see the children growing up happy and healthy. Once we saw the benefits we ramped up the number we sponsor gradually to the current 18. You can see all their stories in those albums and on the Touch1000Lives group pag, which I use as a newsfeed for anything the charity supports. Again, you can look back all the way over the years there. All the evidence is that David and his team at Hope House are very effective supporters of a large number of local children and families. They deserve our support, and the children do indeed have a hope and a future, which they otherwise would not have, as a result of the support they receive. As David says, the older children have now completed high school and are in college. This alone is a major achievement bearing in mind where they've all come from. We will be increasing our monthly child sponsorship support
Many other testimonies of long time supporters can be found on our Facebook and website.
We buy groceries and rice and pass those out as well, as well as clothing. The way the donation spending is broken down is this...
1/3 goes to food, rice and clothing
1/3 goes to school needs
1/3 goes to our feeding programs.
We also supply medical needs as we have resources, and have rented housing to get children off the streets.
We purchase the school clothing and distribute it out at our church, as well as the food bags. We buy the food for the feeding programs and deliver it to the families and children. At out outreach feedings, the food is distributed in food lines..
Here are some comments from some of our visitors here who have visited us and spent time working in our ministry here.
David Pearson ( who visited us with his wife and three children) I was most definitely blessed. So much that not a day goes by without me thinking of those who are at Hope House. They forever have a place in my heart.
That includes you too David Wilkerson. I don't think I have laughed so much in such a long time as when I was there with you. God used you to help me in so many ways. Your ministry is a community, its not just showing up at church on Sunday and Wed. It is a real community and I can testify that the money donated goes to the children,

Today we had church at Hope House in the Philippines. It was VERY nice! I got great pictures that I will share later. I gave my testimony in church and 4 women stood up in front and shared some things that were or still are going on in their lives. All four women were in tears and so was I. You see Hope House has helped these women with medical needs and school needs. Without Hope House they would have no chance in affording books for school or getting the health care needed to save their lives. One woman had an tumor in her belly while pregnant and the Dr's told her that she could be critical with this pregnancy and would have to have a C-Section. She said with tears streaming down her face that David Wilkerson helped her with reading the Bible and she thanked him. She prayed ever night with the Bible on her tummy and delivered her baby NATURAL, the Drs were baffled, but we know it was a miracle. Ohhhh I wish you could have heard her speak :') After church while sitting with the kids I looked around and thought "Wow I'm going to miss these people!" I may be in a foreign land but these people have treated me so good, they are so kind and they ALL have had GREAT things to say about Hope House and David. I'm so glad I came here .The poverty here in Cebu is waaaay more than I ever imagined! David himself lives in a home that is nothing fancy that's for sure. I visited a home today and asked the family "Where do you sleep?" They pointed to the bare plywood on the floor (family of 5 i believe) sleeping on a floor that's @ 6 feet by 6 feet. David Wilkerson often times posts pictures of kids with new clothes and you don't really get to see the poverty they live in, those new clothes and food David provides TRULY gives them hope and makes them feel more human! Thank you to all the sponsors your money helps these children feel love and accepted. I have seen the children here that live right next to David who do not have sponsors they were barefoot, in rags, digging in the trash! They live 50 yards away! Hope house IS MAKING A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!! ♥♥♥

I visited David and his wife Ailene with the purpose of making a video about their ministry. I made the video and David has posted it. This is a real ministry that I support, and I hope to be able to return. As I pack my bags on this early Tuesday morning here in the Philippines, it's hard for me to believe the past 3 weeks are already over. As I head back to Japan, I'll definitely have the kids and David's ministry on my mind and prayers. I got to interview some of the mothers and kids as well about how this ministry has affected, and in many ways, changed their lives. God and the Gospel is moving in the Philippines. The poverty here is real, but not just physical needs, they have spiritual needs as well. David's hope house for the kids provides that immensely in the spiritual darkness much of this place is in.
Our mission is to provide basic support for children trapped in extreme poverty in the third world slums of Cebu City, Philippines. We provide school uniforms, backpacks, shoes and supplies and supplies throughout the school year.
We provide a culture of faith and hope. We take the kids on activities as a group, We buy new clothes, and have feeding programs for slum and street children. We supply medicines as we are able, and pay rent to prevent children going homeless. We teach English as a second language. We are a Hope-Link by providing access to a much greater understanding of the world, and the skills they will need to break free from oppressive poverty. . We believe the real foundation for this freedom lies in Jesus Christ. Please view the video below put together by Patrick Cole of the USAF.
