I am a sixty plus year old single father who has struggled with this job market for months now. I thought it was me, but now after discussing this quandary with some highly intelligent people recently,i have now learned that i am one of many highly qualified job applicants in this same exact position.In fact, I am meeting highly qualified applicants who are in their 30's and 40's and 50's experiencing the exact same scenario that i am....9 months ago i lost my job in the mortgage industry. The savings i had was supporting my child and i for 7-8 months or so and is now depleted. I am  present on a daily basis with the emailing of resumes, setting up interviews, follow up and now networking the best i know how to and with a dear friends assistance far more skilled than i.... I now have everything valuable that i own for sale on Offer Up and Craigslist and work every single day and into the night time hours when available delivering products, groceries through the app based Instacart delivery job. My daughter and i have delivered 271 separate delivery orders in 4 months time in the desert heat to sunburnt exhaustion...I am so very thankful for this income source,however as without it  I would have already ruined my good credit rating months ago..Unfortunately, the Instacart job will not cover the rent and the monthly bills @ $2,350.00 here just in rent + rudimentary living expenses Instacart  is  a ''supplementary'' income source i have utilized while searching and navigating for my ''career'' income job to return to play again that pays all expenses and then some...As a responsible single father there is no ''quit'' in my mindset as i have raised my child solo since she was 9,back since back in 2017 when i became a single dad.  I can assure ''everyone'' that all monies raised will be primarily for the rent due September 1st and any left over funds goes to utilities, car payment, car insurance, gasoline etc.We do not have much time before we are in trouble fulfilling this lease obligation valid through June 2025 that i have payed without issues for 3 years and  $90,000 in rent paid and counting up until a few months ago when my savings finally ran dry.I will be out tomorrow  ''pounding the pavement'' in person since i am having much slower than desired  results with ''online'' applications, emailing resumes ,indeed.com,etc....I have 90-100 resumes out on indeed.com as well....If anyone is willing and able to assist us in these seemingly ''surreal'' times we would be so very grateful to the people who really care. I will never lose my faith in mankind  and I will be back to work soon... God willing, Thank you everyone.
