The news media may have turned its attention to new stories but a international refugee crisis is still happening in Europe. My mission base (YWAM The Kings Lodge, England) already runs a house near the refugee camp in the Calais-Dunkirk (France) area to host teams. A small team of us have been praying how we could bless the refugees there during the holiday season.
We have decided to take off to Calais this weekend! We will be preparing a Christmas meal made of traditional middle Eastern food for the refugees in the camp. We will show them what Christmas is about by simply spending time with them and loving them. What better way to celebrate Christmas season than showing God's Love to those in a dire situation?!
Luckily, being in England we are close by, however, we will have few costs to do this: fuel, ferry, food, accommodation and supplies. We have estimated the cost to be about $100/team member.
I invite you to participate in celebrating Christmas by helping to provide a meal and sharing God's love with refugees during the Christmas season! We have been told we will be serving 700 people!
We are working to raise $1,500 to pay for the food to serve 700 refugees!
