Autumn's Mission to Rescue the Helpless springs from her heart to help people who cannot help themselves, specifically those who are caught in slavery. (Slavery is just as pervasive in the world today as it has ever been.) She has adopted the Bible verse from Psalm 82:4 as her motivation: "Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people."
In her search to find an avenue through which to accomplish this goal Autumn discovered a group called Youth With A Mission (YWAM). YWAM is a Christian organization that began in 1960 as a way to get young people involved in missions. Since then they have grown to be involved in over 180 countries. They have a program specific to the abolishment of human trafficking. When Autumn discovered this she decided to pursue this avenue to see if this is where God is leading her.
Autumn applied to be trained by and go out on mission with YWAM. They accepted her and have even graciously allowed her to begin her training before she had all her funding in place. She has been with YWAM at the Discipleship Training School in Las Vegas since September. In order to rescue people one needs to have the love of God within them, so that is what much of the classroom training is focused on. They also enter into “red light districts” to reach out to those who are enslaved there. They have made many forays into the Las Vegas “streets” and have recently returned from a trip to Tijuana Mexico.
On November 30 the team that Autumn is part of will be traveling to Eastern Europe, specifically the countries of Germany, Georgia & the Czech Republic where some of the largest red light districts are located.
This is your opportunity to reach out across the world and give someone a hand up out of slavery. Autumn is looking for people to partner with her not only financially but also in prayer. If you would be willing to pray for Autumn and her team, we will keep you updated as much as possible. She also still needs people to partner with her to raise about $1500 so that she can fulfill her commitment to YWAM by going to Eastern Europe and reach out to those who are helplessly caught in the grasp of slavery.
