Kathy's Journey

Campaign Created by: Karen, Richard and Kelli

The funds from this campaign will be received by Kathy Honeycutt.

Raised: USD $ 2,280

We know a lot of you have been inquiring on the status of our sister and we have finally been able to take a moment to update you all. Our loving sister, Kathy Lynn Honeycutt, has been very ill since coming home from surgery at the end of May 23, 2022. Kathy suffered back pain for a long time before deciding to have extensive spinal fusion surgery in May 2022. After a couple of weeks of recovering at home, she was rushed back to the hospital where she has been since the beginning of June 2022. After the initial back surgery, she quickly developed many debilitating infections (sepsis and others) and blood clots--which we pray do not travel but dissolve safely. Kathy also has infection in the heart valves in which she needs surgery to replace them but at the moment is not a good candidate. Kathy continues to be on kidney dialysis due to renal failure since mid-July. While in the hospital, Kathy has also endured COVID and pancreatitis, as well as being nearly immobile.

Kathy’s original plan was to return to work after August 8, 2022, but God has other plans. We are praying that He gets her through this and to be able to walk again. It has become a true test of faith, love, and hope for us all.

We are praying that Kathy will recover enough to transfer to Select Specialty Hospital in Atlanta, GA, which is about an hour from where she and her sister Karen live in Cumming, GA. We are asking our extended friends and loved ones for continued prayers for her recovery as the outcome has been and remains in God’s hands. In light of this news, we are praying that the treatment plan does finally work and that her health improves. We are praying that God would give Kathy peace and comfort and that she would not be anxious or fearful.

We have set up a “Give Send GO” account to help with her medical expenses. If you feel led to help, please do and if not, please pray.

Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow,

Karen Neveils, Richard Honeycutt, and Kelli Marrero

Last and final Update #2

It is through great grief that we announce the passing of our beloved sister Kathy Honeycutt. At 6:50pm on September 17, 2022, after singing her favorite hymns and some time in prayer, our sister joined a choir of angels in Heaven. She was preceded by by our dad and mom, and what joy she must have had to sing with daddy and hug mom again in the presence of her Jesus.

She is survived by her sister Karen Neveils, bother Richard Honeycutt (Elaine), and sister Kelli Marrero (Armando). She loved her nephews and their wives, as well as their children, as if they were her own.

Our sister loved to sing, to learn about all sorts of areas of science, and she loved sports. A lifelong Miami Dolphins and Pittsburg Steelers fan, she loved to cheer them on every Sunday. As a physical therapist, she truly enjoyed learning about the human body and the mind, often times reading medical journals and books to continue learning more and more. For as long as we can remember, Kathy was singing and some of our fondest memories are from watching her perform in the annual Christmas Pageant at Fort Lauderdale First Baptist Church.

Now, free of pain and suffering, she is running and laughing and singing with her Lord. We appreciate your prayers, words of encouragement, and love for our sister.

Kathy, we love you and we miss you so much.

Thank you to each and everyone for their support and prayers.  We love ya'll very much and know we will see her again.

Hello friends and family, I am writing to let you know that Kathy has remained the same, no improvement and her blood pressure is remaining on the low sign and not allowing her body to have the dialysis she needs. We are just devastated by this all but continue to try and be strong for her and certainly pray to the Almighty for a miracle. We love her sooooo much. Thank you for the few people that gave to her medical fund. It is very appreciated and the 30 prayers online was wonderful as well. Prayer instills miracles and we need one right now Lord Jesus. IN your name, The Honeycutt family
