We are all shocked by the war in Ukraine…it has impacted the lives of everyone within the borders of this beautiful country which is also the ancestral home of my family. My grandfather was born in a village now called Kalynove. Because of the war, Kalynove is now home to 700 displaced people, including Vladimir who is hopelessly watching his home burn in Gostomel. He along with others made their way to Kalynove, leaving everything behind, to seek refuge. They are in urgent need of food and other essential items to sustain them.
One of my relatives, Marina, has agreed to assist them but needs financial assistance to make this happen. She and her husband fled Kyiv to take refuge with her grandparents in Kalynove. While Marina says she and her family are not in need of assistance, she said the 700 displaced people have many needs.
We need your donations to help these people and others like them survive. I will be assisting Marina remotely and will provide an accounting of all funds to ensure there is transparency.
This part of the Ukraine is where many of the immigrants who settled in the Butte and Kief areas of North Dakota once lived.
