Loving Colleen

Goal : USD $5,000
Raised : USD $ 4,751

It's hard to fathom that our brave, strong, seemingly unstoppable Colleen, trailer-towing, home-renovating, hard-working mama has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Colleen is currently in a Denver hospital undergoing treatment in attempts to stop this fast-progressing immune system attack on her nervous system, which has left her UNABLE TO WALK. The IV treatment is very costly and will require her to be in the hosptial for an extended amount of time.

More than anything, PLEASE PRAY that the treatment is 100% effective and that it does not have any lasting side effects. Pray for swift healing overall. Pray against blood clots forming as she is bed bound. Please pray for all of her other health ailments to be completely and miraculously healed through this whole process- God can do ANYTHING (serious thyroid issues and Chiari malformation that causes her to have severe cranial pressure, amongst other symptoms). Pray for Emery as he is not allowed to see his mama, and pray for her too, as he is her world and misses him immensely. Pray for provision as Colleen will be out of work (also, pray that she can stop herself from working- this girl never takes a break!). Please pray for her emotional and mental state as the days drag on bed-ridden, surrounded by so much unknown. Pray! Pray! Pray!

…and then if you are able and feel led to give to help Colleen financially during this difficult time, this website is a great platform. It will allow for your full donation to be given to Colleen..Colleen is a champion of kindness. She touches lives around her wherever she goes, always giving generously and lending her time and helping hands. For instance, just last week when I saw her on vacation, she was having a hard time walking, but she trekked all over the park to surprise my kids with ice cream. She is full of over-the-top, thoughtful surprises! Colleen also literally stopped for 10 minutes to help a total stranger get a good Christmas picture of their family. She truly has the biggest heart. She is full of light and love and anything we can do to help her maintain her quality of life and joyful spirit, may we do! She is worthy!!!

Colleen and I have been so blown away by the generosity of believers, especially complete strangers! Praying for the Lord to bless everyone in return and to feel our gratitude.

Please continue to pray for Colleen. She just got over a horrible flew. Her immune system is super weak.

She also just updated me today that she’s in constant nerve pain in her legs. While she can walk, which is such a blessing, just a little slap on the leg from her son, brought her to tears the other day. Her legs are so sensitive.

Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.

Update #4

I apologize that I have not posted an update in awhile. There really hasn’t been much to report during the slow, daily grind of regaining strength and mobility; however, Colleen and her son, Emery, have just come down with a terrible flu. Colleen is very, very sick. She said she feels like she “can’t catch a break”. She’s extra sad too because our precious, most-adored grandmother just passed away in Chicago and she won’t be able to attend the services. Thank you for continuing to lift her up!

Colleen has been so blown away by the kindness and generosity of everyone who has given on her behalf. THANK YOU!!! Seriously, THANK YOU!!! She said that she has not felt this loved and taken care of in a long time. To be thought of and poured into, especially during such a difficult time, truly shifts perspective and ushers in gratitude. Thank you all for rallying with me for her and standing and saying COLLEEN, YOU ARE LOVED!!!

Coll continues to recover by the grace of God and through your prayers. Her pain is decreasing, she is getting the medical help that she needs, and she has been granted time off of work to recover. Praises! She is close to being approved for handicap driving accommodations for the times when she has to drive. Colleen is getting in home therapy to help her regain her strength and mobility. I know she is also hoping for a walking aid to help her to move faster and to provide more stability.

She is still so weak and tires very easily. It was quite a feat getting her Christmas tree up the other day- thanks to help from a neighbor. Now, just to have the energy to decorate it! Emery is definitely learning patience, but it is very hard to wait on his mama.

Thank you for praying! Thank you for giving! Thank you for reaching out to Colleen and letting her know you're thinking of her! Thank you for everything!!! God is so good!!!

Colleen's neck pain is becoming more and more severe. She can't get relief. She's going back to the hospital today. Please pray!

Update #1

Colleen is showing miraculous response to the Immune Globulin Intravenous treatment. She had four rounds and with each round sensation returned more and more to her body. She bounced back so quickly, that she was actually discharged. She is now HOME! This is truly the hand of God! The medical team said that they have never seen someone respond so quickly to treatment! They are following her closely to make sure that she does not relapse.

Please continue to pray for her recovery. She is utterly exhausted and still has "pins and needles" in her feet. Neck pain is also causing her quite a bit of discomfort and she does not know why. Sleep has been very rough as well. Please pray for no other sickness to come her way with it being flu season.

Thank you so much!!! WE LOVE YOU COLLEEN!
