Brian's Aid

Campaign Created by: Tim Mckinney

The funds from this campaign will be received by Sloane McKinney.

Goal : USD $15,000
Raised : USD $ 11,481

Our dad is in need of your help.  Brian is a loving father to my sister and I, a grandfather to 5 grandchildren and husband to our mom, Sloane, for 32 years .  He has worked hard all his life to provide and ensure that we had everything we needed in life.  He has always gone out of his way to make people happy.  He works hard and takes pride in the things he does.

Brian recently has had several trips to the emergency room and each one consisting of multiple overnight stays with constant testing be done to find out what has been going on with him.  It started the morning of Feb 27th at 2 am, Brian woke up feeling very light headed and dizzy and asked our mom to call 911.  Paramedics came and checked his vitals.  His blood oxygen level was very low and didn't show signs of getting better.  He was rushed to the hospital where they began monitoring and running tests.  He was placed on oxygen and after staying over 3 nights, he was released to go home, but with no diagnosis of what was going on.  He wasn't home for 2 days before Mom took him into the walk in clinic for again feeling dizzy and light headed.  And again, he was sent to the hospital for low oxygen levels. This time, they performed more tests including an EKG and a dye test.  He was at the hospital for 5 days and was given a diagnosis of hypoxia.  He was sent home again.  He has since been to another doctor who placed him on oxygen and strict bedrest protocol. She scheduled an appointment with a cardiologist ASAP also.   Brian will be unable to work for some time until we can hopefully get treatment for his condition.

Your donations will go towards the medical expenses that are piling up and living expenses during this time as He does not have a set return to work date.  My dad, mom, my sister, and I greatly appreciate any donations and/or prayers that you can give.  Thank you very much for taking the time to care.

Update #1 4/8/2022

First off, My family and I wanted to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for all the donations and prayers that you have given.  it means so much to us and we cant thank you all enough.  I wanted to post an update on Dads condition. Since posting this campaign, Brian has been through more testing and procedures to try and find out what is wrong with him.  His blood oxygen levels continue to drop into the 80's if he exerts him much at all.  On Friday April 1st He went in for a cardiac catheterization, a procedure that consists of inserting a camera into his heart through an artery under the arm.  They found that his heart looked very good and that there didn't appear to be any obstructions or issues.  This was great news to hear, but at the same time, we still didn't know what the problem was.

Brian has been having difficulty sleeping and blood oxygen levels were found, during a sleep study, to have dipped down into the 60's.  He was admitted the hospital again April 6th and is still there as of today April 8th.  He is having more tests done and the doctors have been speaking with other doctors from all around the world seeking help on identifying Dads problem.  They believe they may have an idea what is going on with him.  They believe there must be a shunt blocking his blood flow somewhere in his lungs and are going to be doing a live x-ray procedure where they will be able to watch how his blood absorbs the oxygen from his lungs.  I will follow up with another update at a later time.

Again, we are so grateful for all of your support, donations, and prayers.  I have raised the goal amount because of all the added expenses that have been piling up on our mom and dad through all this.  My mom has been working very very hard to make ends meet as well and has had very little time for anything else.  She has been trying so hard to balance work and taking care of my dad and all the other things that need to be done at home.

Once again, thank you all so very much My family and I are so overwhelmed with emotion for all your love and support.  we are praying for you all and hope that someday, we can help you as you have helped us.  God bless you all.
