Building a new future

After 34 years in the medical field, 25 of those years as a RN,  I found myself unemployed over an experimental vaccine.  My husband, Howard and I have worked hard for the past 2 years to clear all our debt.  Needless to say we haven't had time to build a savings. My husband and I are trying to stay calm and strong in our faith as we move forward.  We are  excited about having chickens, a garden, a root cellar and the ability to get back to a simpler way of life, teaching others how to grow their own food and store it. The little farm we purchased requires infrastructure, a tractor, and a shop to put equipment in.  We broke ground on our garden this week and are running short on funds. Our chickens will be in this week.  Progress is happening, lots of hard work and we are only just beginning.  The goal is to provide an unplugged weekend for families who want to learn how to be self sustaining on small plots of land. and earn an income at the same time. We want to be able to showcase raised plots and beds, medicinal herbs, utilizing green house growing techniques.  Teaching others how to store their yield. We are asking for prayers for strength and perseverance.  We thank you for your prayers and support

So excited to let everyone know our flock is 8 weeks old and growing like weeds.  We harvested the first Arugula from our garden and potatoes, onions, corn, cucumbers are coming up nicely.  It has been a lot of hard work preparing this property.  We are waiting on our roofer to arrive, as this house is 71 years old and in bad need of some up keep.  Blessings to all and again thank you for your continued support and prayers!!
