In completing my Bachelor’s in Psychology at Biola University, I asked the Lord what He had next for me. It didn’t take long to know He was leading me into seminary. I have been accepted into Portland Seminary (George Fox University) to pursue a Master’s in Spiritual Formation with a specialization in Spiritual Direction. Let me share a little of who I am and why my heart is excited to be called into this ministry.
In the last 14+ years, I have been on an amazing journey. Before coming to the Lord, my life was part of a dysfunctional family. There were many triggers, and the difficulties that came along with them were overwhelming. I had no concept of what it meant to care for myself, but adapted to survival mode just to get through the day. Much of what I went through drifted into my walk with Christ. I knew God would bring healing, but what would it take on my part? I must admit, it was not an easy road, but my walk required something very important: obedience. Obedience meant to surrender my ideas, thoughts, dreams, and all of me, to a Perfect, Just, and Loving Father. I had a lot of pain, deep wounds, chronic stress, and found myself visiting the hospital more than family.
True healing came through the power of the Holy Spirit. I found the more I drew closer to God, He drew closer to me. The intimacy of learning His Word and truly being in a devoted relationship with Christ is what ultimately restored hope into my life. His life-filled Word and the selfless, spiritual mentors guiding me through loving God more than anything else, is where I found purpose, contentment, and genuine peace. My heart is to be a servant of God, a vessel of His love to a very hurting world. I have a deep desire to impart the same selfless commitment to children and families needing their hope restored.
I am humbly asking for your support in this next chapter of my life through prayers and donations. First, I gratefully ask for your prayers over this next step in my walk with Christ, especially over my time attending Portland Seminary. And second, any monetary donations to support this next endeavor over the next two years would be wholeheartedly appreciated.
Thank you with an abundance of gratitude.
Bless your hearts!
