Dan is home!
Dan was discharged from the rehab hospital yesterday. He continues with outpatient physical and occupational therapy. Thank you for your continued prayers!
Update this morning from Dan:
”Made 350 feet hopping on one foot and one hand.... a bit different from using crutches in the past! 3 plus hours of PT/OT a day. Trying to keep up with the pain with oral medications. Ellie is doing well she and grandad come to visit often bringing me snacks and clean clothes to wear. Dani has swung by a couple times with her boyfriend. Teri has brought the 3 little ones to come visit. I talk/text Tommy, busy working man, on the phone and he's come to visit as well. Same as David who has brought Gdad and cheesepuffs. They are kicking me out of here on Wednesday 7/24. I will not be able to walk and be full weight bearing for another 7 weeks I believe. Slow and steady wins the race.”
Good news! Dan has been discharged from Fairfax Hospital and moved to a rehab facility. He's very grateful for the support and feels the prayers. Thank you all so much!
I talked to Dan today and he's in considerable pain, as you can imagine. On top of all of the accident issues, he's also sick with a cold/flu and a terrible cough, which is awful with five broken ribs. So he's going to have a procedure today to put in a nerve block to help with the pain. His wrist surgery was largely successful, but he had both nerve damage and ligament damage in there, so that will also be a long recovery. He's not currently able to stand but they've been working with him to get him up. Please keep praying!
