My whole life my Papa has called me pretty...but has he ever really SEEN me? No. Not in color anyway.
He suffers from severe color blindness and always has.
My Papa is a pastor like his dad before him. He has dedicated his entire adult life to spreading the joy of Christ's love. He's traveled the world preaching and singing the gospel. He's started churches and built orphanages. He is a good man.
He is the leader of our crazy clan. 9 grandkids in 10 years time, great grandkids now stealing his attention. He is our patriarch and our guiding post. He was the love of my grandmother's life and he's doing all he can to carry the weight of our family without her since her passing. He's deserving of something. And I want this to be it.
We've all teased him our whole lives about not seeing in color. He preaches about God's handiwork and I hate to think he hasn't gotten to truly see how beautiful this world is. I want to see his face see a sunset for the first time. I want to give him that view while he's here with me.
I know it seems frivolous and in the grand scheme it maybe is. But if you've ever known a guy like my Papa you understand why I want to bless him the way he blesses others. I want him to know he is seen and loved and appreciated...and I know finally seeing his family in color would send that message.
Please consider helping me reach this goal for my Papa...as you can see from his picture he REALLY needs these new glasses! But if you know him don't let him know, we want this to be a surpise to bless his heart!
