After over 9 years of trying to have children our prayers were answered with one amazing phone call...
We were married in 2008, both always wanting three or four kids. We started trying to conceive back in 2011. After over a year we figured it was time to start looking into why it was taking so long. We got a few answers pretty quick, yet they didn't seem to help, so we were sent to another doctor and another doctor. This went on for a several years with very few answers. Then Gabe started a new adventure heading back to school so doctor visits took a back seat. Moving to another state didn't help either because it meant pretty much starting over with all new doctors. We got serious about trying again in 2019 knowing Gabe wasn't too far away from graduating, which resulted in a diagnostic laparoscopy for Mindy in early 2020 where they found some endometriosis which was removed. Yet again this didn't seem to help, and we were referred to another doctor who surprisingly after 6 months we still have not gotten in to. Over the summer Gabe had a clear dream of us in our church with a baby boy. Within a few days we picked out 3 boys' names which in 9 years we had only ever been able to agree on girls’ names. This was very encouraging, but school, work and life got crazy again and we pretty much decided to put everything on hold again until after graduation, job acceptance and relocation depending on where the new career takes us. November rolls around, Mindy had just accepted a new job and Thanksgiving was a few days away when the phone rang... it was a past coworker and friend of Mindy's (who amazingly offered to be our surrogate a few years back, but we weren't in a place to go that route at that time) she offered us the gift of a lifetime, to adopt a baby boy due in late April or early May! We of course said yes in a matter of minutes!! She is carrying the answer to our prayers!!
Adoptions are expensive no matter which route you go, we are doing a private adoption which consists of a lawyer, home study and court fees that all still add up pretty fast. We are asking that you pray about contributing to our account to help us fund adopting this gift from God, baby Rhys Daniel!
It means the world to us that you have even taken the time to read this. We also ask that you would pray for all involved, birth family, us and the whole process!
If you know any of the birth family, please keep their names out of any conversations, this is a huge hard decision that hasn't been take lightly!
