Ever since I started going to Gainesville Church of God in January of 2017, I have been interested in their annual mission trip to Guatemala. As many of you know, I have dealt with health issues since I was in elementary school and was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease at age 12. I was able to receive treatment at that time and grow stronger each year. I have prayed about the mission trip this year, talked with my Pastor and with others who have gone on the mission trip in prior years, and I am ready to go! I couldn't be more excited to go make a difference in Guatemala with the amazing people from my church! Let me tell you a little about what we do there:
First of all, we support 8 feeding centers in Guatemala that operate YEAR ROUND, with the most recent one being in the mountains of eastern Guatemala! The feeding centers feed kids up to age 12 three times a week, which is sometimes the only meals they get during famine seasons. While there each year, we provide medical and dental care and spend special time ministering to the people, with a special emphasis on the children. My group will be working with the children in a VBS-type setting so that they can be loved and nurtured, have fun and learn about God:-)
First and foremost, I request your prayers for me, my health and my entire team as we make this journey. Additionally, I request your prayers that the finances come together. If you are able, please make a monetary donation or purchase one of our specially made lanyards that my friend Sam and I made for the trip. They say, "Until the Whole World Hears", which comes from God instructing us to take the gospel to the ends of the earth!
Thank you and God Bless!
