Solid Home Broken Widow

🌟 **An Unexpected Journey Begins**

While ministering in La Cienega in the Dominican Republic our team with Constanza for Christ met Irda.  She is a faithful member of the church we have planted in that town.  Irda is a godly lady who has suffered much in losing a husband and a child.  She lives in a clapboard house with rusted tin for a roof.  While many people in impoverished areas ask the missionaries for financial help, Irda has not.  Rather she elects to bless us with a cup of coffee and rejoice in Gods goodness with us.   Four of us agreed to build her a permanent home.  Three are providing the finances for materials and the fourth is providing the labor.  All donated funds will be sent to Constanza for Christ and from there it will go towards our Pastor there to oversee the construction of Irda's home.

I remember the first time I met Irda, her eyes filled with warmth and strength. She's a widow who lost her son

📜 **I Timothy 5:3** tells us about caring for those in need and providing for widows who are truly in need. It's more than just a scripture; it’s an obligation we feel to each other, not only as church members but as human beings made of heartbeats that beat with compassion.

The cost? Just $2,250 and the labor to build her a solid block house—a home she can call secure in the face of uncertainties life sometimes throws at us. This isn’t just about bricks and mortar; it's about dignity, security, and hope for Irda who has seen too much loss but remains hopeful.

🤝 **Why Labor is Free**

Here’s a raw truth: we can raise the money in minutes on any platform—but there’s something profoundly human in offering our hands instead of just pocketing. The church members are willing to provide labor because they believe it's not about building someone else up but lifting them from the depths together as one community, united against life's adversities.

"No amount of money can truly replace what she has lost," says Juan, a pillar in our congregation, "but we can ensure that her future is brighter than today." This project isn’t just about helping Irda; it’s about reinforcing the values and love within our community—the kind of love that makes sacrifices not because you have to but because you care.

💌 **We Stand Together**

This story could end in many ways, some harrowing, others heartwarming. We choose hope, a choice echoed by Irda herself who says with teary eyes and a firm voice, "I may not have much left, but I still believe there are good people out there." Today, we stand here as those good people for her—we can’t stop life's storms, but together, we can build the shelter.

Please join us in this mission of compassion and hope by sharing our story or contributing to make Irda's home a reality. Every dollar counts, every share helps spread warmth. Let’s turn $5,000 into bricks that stand tall against the storm—brick by brick, love after loss. 💖
