This April 21st will be 15 years since my lovely bride, Jessica, agreed to make me the happiest man on earth. We have had our ups and downs over the years, but we have always had each other and God to get us through the tough times. She is the greatest gift a man could ask for.
I know that I joke on Facebook about getting her a vacuum cleaner or swiffer for her birthday and Valentine's day, but if you really knew the softy I am when it comes to romance you would love me as much as she does. Her company issued a "flower policy" preventing any future deliveries to the office because I would randomly send her flowers to brighten her day and it made the other women she worked with mad. So I did the next best thing. I will now on occassion make the 90 mile roundtrip to her workplace and place a bouquet of flowers on her car driver's seat. So when she gets out of a long, hard day at work she finds flowers and note letting her know I love and appreciate her. Yes, ladies. Aawwww.....
So, why am I telling you all of this? Well, because I want to do something AMAZING for her 15th anniversary. She has been such a faithful friend and wonderful wife and mother that I think she deserves the very best. We went to Disney World for our honeymoon and both immediately fell in love with Disney. When her 30th birthday came around we went back for another visit and it was amazing. I want to surprise her with a trip to Disney World and the chance to relive the magic of our honeymoon.
My problem is that we don't have money to do anything other than maybe go to a hotel down the street for the night. The issue is that I work full-time for our camping ministry, Hope Valley Camp, but because it is a startup business the cashflow does not provide any kind of salary for our family. So we survive on God's grace & provision, smart spending and Jessica's human services job. Great benefits. Not so great pay.
Every day I post something on Facebook that makes you laugh, smile, happy, question life and draw closer to God. I do that because I enjoy the social interaction and blessing of connecting with so many diverse people online. Now I am hoping that I can turn those connections into a hundred little blessings for my wife. Literally. If 100 of my facebook friends sent a small gift of $25 or more we would reach our goal immediately. And I will send you a certified prayer cloth and miracle healing water from Lake Erie. Guaranteed to make anything glow in the dark. See what I did there?
Seriously, though. We would both be so incredibly touched if y'all wanted to bless us with a small donation towards our second honeymoon. And if Jessica ends up pregnant with a 3rd child then we will name* the baby after one of the people that Like, Share and Comments on this post on Facebook. We appreciate you helping out if you can.
* She will probably not allow me to do this, but I am sure that Mark Zuckerburg will still give you a free Ferrari for sharing a picture. ;)
